History

The Rutgers Geology Museum was founded in 1872 by Dr. Henry M. Bienenstock. The museum is affiliated with Rutgers University. The museum was originally located on the Rutgers campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The museum moved to its current location in Highland Park in 1975.


Collections & Exhibits

The museum has a number of exhibits on topics such as geology, minerals, fossils, and the history of the Earth. The museum also has a gift shop and a library. The museum's library contains over 1,000 books on geology and other related topics.


How To Visit

The Rutgers Geology Museum is open to the public from 9:00am to 4:00pm on weekdays. The museum is closed on weekends and holidays. Admission to the museum is free.
